HOPPY BREW YEAR BOMBERS !!!


Hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable holiday season. It's going to be a busy and fun filled year. We already have a lot of competitions on the calendar, like this Saturdays Monk Melee VII, the 2nd annual Bombing Run and the Brü Route Homebrew Challenge to name a few, good luck to all who enter. And some really great guest speakers at our monthly club meetings . We will be planning a lot of exciting events this year so stay tuned for those announcements through our website, emails, and Facebook page. And any other way we can get the word out.

As we all know, the weather doesn't always cooperate this time of year, but don't let that stop you from getting your brew on! Presentation:

Dr. Roger Barth is a professor at West Chester University. Dr. Barth works on the issues involving beer brewing. He is also the author of The Chemistry of Beer. Dr. Barth will be discussing malt specifically during his time with us.  

As usual, we’ll be drinking homebrew.  Bring along some to share and don’t forget to check it in with Becky so she can tag and log it. And if you’d like to constructive feedback let us know and we’ll find someone who would be happy to give it!

2018 BOMB Board Members

2018 Bombing Run

Congratulations to Mike Kinsley, our inaugural BOMBing Run Champion! He will be looking to defend his championship in 2018 and it's up to you to brew your best beers to take the trophy home in 2018. To that end, we have made a few adjustments to the BOMBing Run rules for this year and also have finalized the details on the beer styles for each round.

Sign up to participate in the 2018 BOMBing Run. You must declare your intent to enter and register by midnight on Thursday, February 15, 2018.

Round 1 - IPA (BJCP 21a)- March 15th Club Meeting
Round 2 - Saison (BJCP 25b, 30a with 25b as the base beer) - June 21st Club Meeting
Round 3 - Oktoberfest (BJCP 6a) - Sept 20th Club Meeting
Round 4 - Porter (BJCP 20a, 30a with 20a as the base beer) - TBD December Holiday Party
2018 Bru Route Challenge is under construction. Stay tuned for updates and how you can help.

Date set for Saturday, March 24th - details to come but it is an all style homebrew competition between the three Delaware County homebrew clubs - us, Delco Wooder Works and Mainline Brewers. Needless to say - we need to drop the BOMB on this competition.
