Children's Summer Program

On the 1st through 3d Sunday each month, children of grade-school age have their own program, with games, crafts and perhaps some surprises.  Usually, the children join their families for about the first 20 minutes of meeting, and then leave for their program with their adult leaders. They will be returned to their parents at the rise of meeting.

Junior Meeting - On the 4th Sunday each month, there's a treasured opportunity for children in grades 1- 5 to meet together in worship, accompanied by a few adult Friends.  Meeting begins at 10:00, either in the memorial garden, or in the white house if needed for inclement weather.

For the younger children, ages 0 through kindergarten, the Nursery opens from 10 a.m. to 11:30 each Sunday in the white house.

You can reach me at but I would prefer most questions during the Zoom call.  Join at this link on Zoom.  The meeting ID will be 870 1356 2026 and the Passcode: 096941.

In and Around Adelphi Meeting

Heard in Meeting for Business Last Sunday

  • Our First Day School classes are not yet fully staffed for the fall (beginning Sept 11).  Need 2 each for the two elementary levels, and 1 more person to help in the nursery.
  • We approved two nominees:  Cameron McPhee to Friends Community School Board of Trustees, Angelyn Flowers to Adelphi Meetings’ Trustees.
  • We will go ahead and order new floor tiles to be installed in the social hall and let the contractor, supplier, and installer figure out their own relative responsibility.
  • We heard and discussed a plan for continued assistance to the Lodin family. (Link here.)
  • We heard and discussed the draft of a potential statement by Adelphi Meeting (link here) re our commitment to anti-racism. We heard comparisons to the BYM 2019 Statement on Anti-Racism (linked here.)The Change Group welcomes comments and questions; please send to Michael Levi (via Breeze).
  • We heard plans from the Finance Committee and Treasurer to begin drafting a budget for the meeting for next fiscal year, which begins December 1. To accommodate the committee’s work and first and second readings, the Treasurer needs to receive budget estimates from committees in September.
  • Our clerk will be happy to hear feedback from Friends re the blended Meeting for Business.

Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field.
I'll meet you there.
When the soul lies down in that grass, the world is too full to talk about.
Ideas, language, even the phrase ‘each other’ doesn't make any sense.
