AUSLAND GROUP STRIVES TO BE A TEAM OF WORLD-CLASS EMPLOYEES BY BRINGING TOGETHER PEOPLE OF DIVERSE TALENTS AND BACKGROUNDS TO BUILD A CULTURE THAT IS SAFE, WELCOMING, AND INCLUSIVE, BELIEVING THAT DIVERSITY DRIVES INNOVATION.

The smoke-filled air holds the weight of grief, as we assess the losses from the wildfires that are still burning through our beautiful state. But the incredible displays of compassion, strength, and resiliency from our neighbors this past week provide hope for the rebuilding of both lives and buildings.

Thank you to the first responders who selflessly fight to protect our communities, and to the volunteers who are gathering in droves to provide food, shelter, and support for those who have had to evacuate.

The combination of the pandemic conditions and now the wildfires mean that thousands of Oregonians will be living and working in uncertainty for many months. The loss of thousands of homes exacerbates the seriousness of the housing crisis in Oregon.

Please know that Ausland is here to support you and our community in whatever ways we can. Reach out to us if you see a family being left behind, a business who needs temporary office space, or have a concept for a housing solution that we can help with.

In the coming weeks and months, you will hear more from us on our response. Here are some of the areas our team members are working on:
  • Safety First: Last week we safely evacuated over 100 personnel from project sites in accordance with each projects emergency action plan. Ausland’s Safety Committee works tirelessly to ensure the safety of each employee and jobsite. Currently, the quality of air is a major concern and we are making sure proper precautions are followed on each site.
  • Structurally Inspect Burnt Facilities to Aid in the Rebuild: Our structural engineer Scott Metzler, PE, SE, has over 35-years experience and is specifically trained on post-disaster inspections. Call 541-476-3788 for a prompt inspection of a fire-impacted site. For more information, see our article below, Rebuilding After Fire - How Is That Foundation?
  • Housing Crisis Solutions: Our team has built $13 Million in low-income housing and designed over 500 lots for new homes in recent years. We are committed to using our expertise to boost the affordable housing supply and are working to partner with other developers, builders, and designers throughout the Valley. We are in this together. See our article below, The Housing Crisis - Finding Solutions Together.
  • Provide Immediate Relief to Impacted Families: Our team members and extended community are raising money and donating supplies for impacted families.Thank you to all who have donated!
  • Help Communities Fast-Track Permitting:  We are offering our services to communities to help develop a process to streamline permitting. Currently neither Talent nor Phoenix have provisions to allow fast tracking of permits or grandfathering of non-conforming uses to allow a rebuild. We are offering solutions pro bono to these communities to help rebuild faster.
  • Turn-Key Design + Build Solutions for Businesses: Our architects, engineers, and builders are ready to deliver quality projects, quickly. With the entire team under one roof, we can offer the fastest and smoothest process.
If you have any immediate needs, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. Meanwhile, please join us in offering our thoughts and prayers to the firefighters on the frontlines and community members who have lost their homes this past week.

Sincerely,

Kelsy Ausland
