The overlooked benefits of women-only leadership programs
Dear <<First Name>>,
McKinsey Quarterly published an article a couple of years ago on the overlooked benefits of women-only programs. The two authors argue that these kinds of programs often are misinterpreted as a “self-help” to the individual leaving unexamined the most powerful value of those programs to the organisation.
Based on 150 interviews, the article argues that organisations that send participants to a women’s leadership development program benefit from the development of reflective leaders and change agents of today’s and tomorrow’s leadership culture.
The article concludes that women-only programs foster the leadership mindset of tomorrow. The programs put focus on leadership skills that will lead to truly inclusive workplaces taking full advantage of the significant benefits of diverse teams operating at their best.
