8 New Members Since Rome
and Already 4 Newcomers in 2018!

EPTDA is welcoming 4 new member companies in the first month of 2018: Rekvisitt AS, WEG (UK) Ltd, Bando Europe GmbH and FAM. Since Rome 2017, 8 new members joined EPTDA, the other 4 new companies that were welcomed on board are Arif Alacam Rulman Ltd. Sti., Bruin Aandrijftechniek B.V., CW Bearing GmbH and Miki Pulley Europe AG, and have been featured in the previous edition of EPTDA’s eMotion.
Rekvisitt AS is a distributor company, that was founded in 1955, and is one of Norway’s leading suppliers of electric motors, conveyors, transmissions and related products. Rekvisitt AS has a wide range of quality products, and 60 years of experience in the industry – which helps them provide the best service possible and find the right solutions for their customers.

Prepare for the e-Privacy Regulations:
What Changes in 2018?

The rise of the Internet, smartphone and social media have changed the way we communicate and do business. Therefore the European Commission maintains its focus on updating the legislation in order to keep up with the technological development and consumer behaviour.
 
In May 2018, two sets of new European rules are coming into force. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)  is the first one and sets the guidelines regarding the protection of personal data.
 
The second one is e-Privacy Regulation, which updates the existing e-Privacy legal framework, more specifically the EU e-Privacy Directive, which goes back to 2002 and was revised in 2009, requiring prior consent regarding cookies.
 
It is equally important and concerns the confidentiality of communications. In a world where we text, send messages via apps, make videos or GIFs, chat on social media - and promote our businesses using all these new technologies - it is vital to have a legislation that covers these aspects of our personal and professional life.

Rise of European's Economy Into at Least the Second Half of 2018

Europe Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is up 2.0% from last year. The industrial and consumer sectors of the economy are expanding, providing upward momentum for Europe GDP.
 
Trends in both the Europe Leading Indicator and Europe Economic Sentiment Index suggest rise for the European economy into at least the second half of 2018. However, the trends in these leading indicators also suggest that slowing growth is likely to characterize the European economy during the second half of 2018. On the consumer side of the economy, Europe Retail Sales were up 4.0% compared to one year ago. Retail Sales transitioned to a tentative slowing growth trend in October, but further data is needed to confirm this trend.
