BTTC to close from Thursday 5th November 🏓

Just when we were getting back into our game and sessions again, even if a little limited, we find we have to be restricted again when we have to close the club from Nov 5th until Dec 2nd. We are so sorry about this.

We will be trying to get everything sorted before closure on Wednesday evening, but please bear with us. For example there is still not clear national guidance yet on our work with schools and the university and on outdoor play, although the weather will obviously have an impact even if we can go ahead.

We recognise that this is a difficult time for everyone. If you feel able to continue to pay by direct debit over this four week period then we would be very grateful, but perfectly understand if you cannot. Please let us know and we can put these on hold for you.

Above all we want to say thank you to everyone who has helped get the club back up and running so that we are in a good position when we hope to return in early December. We try to be a responsive and positive club and still hope to help our community through this period and beyond. So watch this space. The food hub is seen as an essential service so will continue.

Climb the AllStarsTT leaderboard! 🌟

One glimmer in the sky for players is that you can continue to play our new AllStarsTT even if you have only your kitchen table, a couple of frying pans (though a bat would be easier truthfully), a table tennis ball, a makeshift net and someone in your bubble.

Join AllStarsTT and share the number of games you play on the leaderboard and watch yourself climb up the list. It’s free, it’s fun and it will keep you fit.

Magic at Moulsecoomb 🏓

After the success of the summer holiday sessions, Moulsecoomb Primary School hosted another activity programme during half term last week for SEN children across the city.

Organised by Brighton Table Tennis Club with partners Nam Yang Martial Arts, the Moulsecoomb Forest Garden, Amazonas Arts and VYD Football, children and young people aged 7-18 took part in forty five minute fun and fitness sessions, learning new skills and sharing time together with new friends.

The carousel of activities saw days full of table tennis, martial arts, football skills, outdoor forest creativity sessions and the dance, music and acrobatics of capoeira. Picnic time was included with delicious lunches provided for everyone by The Bevy.

Youngsters there declared it “magic” and feedback from families has been really positive:

“Thank you for organising this. Amazing that there were so many activities and lunch and it was free.”

“My son really enjoyed it. It was a great experience for him to be able to try new sports...We would love to join you again.”
