Funding Opportunities
Apply to The Leadership Incubator, a signature program to provide women in the United States with training, network expansion, mentorship and community to bring their bold vision for change to life. Through this year-long incubator, Vital Voices and TRESemmé aim to support and champion passionate women leaders who look to create a positive social impact in their communities and beyond, daring to achieve their ambitions despite the barriers they may face. All applications must be submitted by July 8, 2019.
 

Applications for the StartupBus: Advancing Black Entrepreneurs are now open to all Black entrepreneurs living in New York City, Baltimore MD, Washington D.C., and a few other cities. StartupBus is an entrepreneurship boot camp and global startup competition on-wheels spanning four continents, 26 countries, 18 competitions, and a global community of over 1800+ alumni. During the 72 hours on the bus, participants will form teams and get the unique opportunity to conceive, build, and launch a fully-functional product ready to be pitched to investors. Once the bus arrives in New Orleans, the collaborative turns competitive as riders participate in a multi-round pitch competition. Apply Now!
 
Founder Gym is an online program that trains underrepresented founders on fundraising to scale their tech startups. Via 6-week online cohorts, founders complete structured exercises and receive expert training from seasoned investors and funded-founders. Upon completion, graduates are equipped with the knowledge, network, and know-how to successfully raise their first rounds of funding and scale. Apply by July 10!

June 27: Inside the Minds of Brilliant Designers | Join General Assembly for a discussion on how expert designers approach problem solving.

July 2Financing Your Small Business | DC Score presents a financial bootcamp on the advantages and disadvantages of the various forms of financing. 

July 11: Creating a Strong Credit Profile (Personal & Business) | This workshop presented by the Women's Business Center of Northern VA will cover the fundamentals and strategies for building a strong credit profile, dealing with debt, and improving access to credit for your business enterprise.

July 17: FY19 Green Book SBE Opportunity Guide: Connecting with DC Government Procurement Opportunities |  Join the Small Business Resource Center (SBRC) to learn about the contracting process in D.C. The workshop will provide an overview of CBE Connet and the SBE Opportunity Guide. CBE Connect is a one-stop shop for all contracting and procurement needs for CBEs covering preparation for contracting, review of Agency CBE/SBE requirements and more.

July 18: Reverse Pitch Competition Attendee Registration | Join the DC Women's Business Center for a pitch competition in front of a live audience of bankers, investors, and the general public. Funders, investors and spectators will purchase “play money” upon entry and use the “play money” to invest in as many participants as they choose. The top three earning pitch participants will receive cash prizes. If interested in pitching, submit an application before July 1st here.

July 19: Morning Mastermind and Networking | Join Women in Consulting DC Meetup for a Morning Mastermind and Networking event! Meet members of the Hera Hub DC community and other women consultants. Share ideas, expand your network and be inspired!

July 24: Creative Boost — Overcoming Imposter Syndrome as an Entrepreneur | Join Davia Roberts for a conversation about her experiences overcoming impostorism. Imposter Syndrome, also known as 'fraud syndrome,' is a psychological concept where high achievers struggle with the ability to truly believe their success is well earned.

Apply to speak at the Consumer Technology Association CES Conference in 2020 in Las Vegas. Thought leaders, innovators and technology experts from a variety of backgrounds are encouraged to apply. CES is the world's gathering place for all those who thrive on the business of consumer technologies. The deadline to apply is July 12!
 

Nominations are open for the 2019 Women in Business and Civic Leadership Awards. Nominees work must focus on education and include emphasis on entrepreneurship or business. Honorees will be awarded at the 2019 Walker's Legacy Women in Business and Civic Leadership luncheon and reception to be held in Washington, DC on Thursday, September 12, 2019. Nominations will close July 8, 2019 at 5:00PM EST.
