Can you think of anything better than strolling through Astoria's galleries on a summer's evening? We are particularly excited for Augusts Second Saturday Art Walk. In our painting gallery we have a new show opening, featuring the work of Mary Alayne Thomas and Andrea Benson. Both use the encaustic medium in very different ways. Mary uses it to create a depth and magical surface to her watercolors, while Andrea uses rich earthy pigments mixed in the wax. In our sculpture gallery, Suzanne Long's exhibition continues. Her quirky imagination is bought to reality through the medium of clay and mixed media.
