Useful advice ahead of the Christmas and New Year holidays
We've put together some useful advice to support the physical and mental wellbeing of you and your family this festive season - please take some time to read and share with others.
This advice includes
  • A list of pharmacies in Suffolk and neighbouring counties which will be OPEN on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day
  • A reminder to check that you will have enough repeat prescription medicine to last over the holidays and that it usually takes at least 48 hours for your GP practice to process a repeat prescription request
  • The NHS 111 service is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week for urgent medical help and advice by telephone and online
  • The Suffolk GP+ service offers evening, weekend and bank holiday GP and nurse appointments  - ask at your surgery during its usual opening hours
  • Some useful mental health resources including Living Life To The Full online courses, NHS podcasts and advice on dealing with stress, online support and counselling for young people from Kooth and round-the-clock support is available from the Samaritans.

Be ready to deal with minor illness and injury. Keeping the medicine cabinet basics - such as paracetamol and sticking plasters - at home means you are best prepared. Ask your pharmacist for advice on what items are best for you.
