Dear Friends, Visitors and Supporters

We would like to thank all of you for the huge amount of support and encouragement you have shown us over the period of closure due to the global pandemic. We hope you have managed to engage with some of the online content we have been publishing, and we remain committed to bringing you the best of our collections and digital projects online.

As the lockdown eases we are looking forward to welcoming you all back to our beautiful venues, and hope that the Royal Pavilion & Museums can continue to be a source of inspiration and reflection for you all. We want to take this opportunity to explain what we are planning to keep our staff and visitors safe when the doors re-open.

The Royal Pavilion will be the first of our buildings to open, followed shortly afterwards by Brighton Museum and then Preston Manor. Hove & Booth Museums will follow.

We have been working to install new safety measures in accordance with the latest government advice. When we re-open we will be bringing in a new ticketing system that enables you to pre-book your visit with a timed entry slot, so we can carefully manage the number of visitors in the building. There will also be no-contact print at home tickets, and contactless till points and payments, as well as ultra-enhanced cleaning regimes, and hand sanitation facilities available.

We are conducting a survey in this newsletter to find out how you might feel about returning to our venues. Your feedback will be incredibly helpful to us, and help us to make everyone’s visits safer and more secure.  If there is anything we have missed then please do use the section at the end to make your suggestions.

We will be in touch in our next newsletter with dates for re-opening, but meanwhile we hope you and your loved ones remain safe, and we thank you for your patience and continued support for the Royal Pavilion & Museums.

Our Members are incredibly important to us and in return for your support we offer benefits that include a regular Newsletter, an exclusive events programme, a free welcome tour of the Royal Pavilion, access to exhibitions prior to public opening and a Royal Pavilion shop discount.

Our exclusive Member Events Programme includes specialist talks, guided tours and opportunities to delve deeper into our unique heritage through study days and craft based workshops. We hope to have our programmes up and running again as soon as possible. In becoming one of our valued Members you will be making a big difference by helping to safeguard our wonderful historic buildings and collections for future generations.
