Honoring Our Fallen

Patrol Officer David Fahey of the Cleveland PD and Trooper Kenneth Velez of the Ohio State Highway Patrol will be the latest officers to be commemorated on the Greater Cleveland Peace Officers Memorial, during the 32nd annual Police Memorial Commemoration this May 13-21, 2017. Sadly, they become the 184th and 185th officers from our region to have died in the line of duty since the founding of the Western Reserve. For more information, click here

The Greater Cleveland Peace Officers Memorial Society has kept the legacy of our region's fallen officers alive for over thirty years, especially those from Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina and northern Summit counties.

Since the GCPOM was first dedicated in 1993, it's been necessary to add the names of more officers that have made the ultimate sacrifice. It's due to these losses and the discovery of more officers that died in the line of duty throughout the history of our region that it has become necessary to expand the Greater Cleveland Peace Officers Memorial.

The expansion is made possible through the generous donations made by our citizens. We invite you to join in this effort to honor those who gave their lives in service to our communities. To make a donation, click here.

Cleveland Police take the plunge at the 2017 Polar Bear Plunge

The Cleveland Police Foundation was proud to be a supporter of the Cleveland Police, or Policicles, at the 2017 Polar Bear Plunge for the Special Olympics!

The Policicles won the Best Team Costume Award for their Gilligan’s Island theme, which came complete with their personal rendition of the theme song. This year was dedicated to our good friend and captain, the late Captain Tom Tube!

This event raised nearly $60,000 for Special Olympics Ohio. Thank you to all the officers, and friends and families, that participated and donated to this great cause. Great job Cleveland Policicles!

Cleveland Police Community Policing Visit Jefferson Library in Tremont

Community Policing officers visited the Jefferson Library in Tremont and spoke to the 1st - 3rd graders at Tremont Montessori School about safety and police work. The event gave the police and children the important opportunity to get to know each other. The books were provided by the CPF’s Little Free Library project. CPD and CFD Battle in Chili Cook Off

The CPF chili won the 30th Annual Chili Bowl Classic Chili Championship at the Galleria on Saturday!

Ten chilies from across the city were represented, but more importantly, it was Cleveland Fire vs. Cleveland Police. This is the 2nd win in a row for CPD, so CFD needs to step it up for next year!

A huge thank you to our good friends at Hermes Road Racing, who will be donating to Cops for Kids and to Metro’s Burn Unit as a thank you for our participation!!
