Hive inspection and mite testing this Saturday!
Now is the time to get ready for winter! What you do in the hive today will have the biggest affect 3 months from now! This Saturday, August 14 at 10:00AM I will be up at the FLC performing inspections on all 3 hives and doing the ‘alcohol” version of mite testing. I tested the hives 3 weeks ago and had 1 mite total in 2 hives and 0 in the third. I am not expecting big things but this will be a good chance to see how hive inspections and mite testing is performed.
Items to Bring
- Suit or Veil
- Closed toed shoes
- Long sleeves and pants
- Water
- Optional: gloves, hive tool and smoker.
Please be advised before we enter the hives you will be required to review a Waiver and Assumption of Risks Agreement and I will have you sign an associated signature page limiting the TVBC and City of Boise liability at the FLC during hive inspections.
