Congratulations to Cole Jefferies!

The Bristol Games Hub wants to send a huge congrats to Cole Jefferies for winning UK Game of the Show at Gamescom this year, with his game Shadows of Doubt: The Detective Simulator.

New Game Alert!

Insert coin. Dispense ball. Get the ball to the end! Each Automatoy is a unique, mechanical obstacle course. Tap, turn, tilt and spin the contraptions to help each ball hop and roll its way to victory.

Automatoys, created by Idle Friday, is out now! Idle Friday was founded in 2018 by Steffan Glynn. Automatoys will be his first independent release. More info about the game can be found here! 

For any keen soundtrack listeners, you can find it here (and on Bandcamp)! It was created by Jake Gaule and is his first full soundtrack release.

Silicon Gorge Autumn 2022

Are you looking for early stage equity funding for your business? Silicon Gorge Investor Showcase is now open for applications! 

The Investor Showcase allows Tech, Cyber and Creative startups/ scaleups looking for between £100k-£3m in equity investment the chance to pitch to a room full of investors from all over at an event in Bristol on 10th November.

It's a competitive process with a couple of pitching competitions in October to select the top 12, and each of these will also benefit from a number of Investor readiness workshops and PR to help them in their raise!

Rebel Inc: Escalation - Sand & Secrets DLC

We’re gearing up to release the first DLC for Rebel Inc: Escalation! Sand & Secrets will add a completely new region called Golden Sands and a number of new official scenarios. Coming very soon, this DLC will be free at launch for all owners of Rebel Inc: Escalation.

Auroch Digitale is Now Available at Moor Beer!

Auroch Digital has teamed up with Moor Beer, a Bristol-based brewery, to create our own brew. Just in time for the release of our new beer brewing simulation game, Brewmaster

Head on down to the Moor Beer site in St Philips, Bristol, to pick up one of these tasty brews, modelled above by our very own mascot, Coco.

Game Accessibility Symposium!
Wednesday 7th September

A one-day symposium to present research findings of the AD4Games project, and to discuss future directions in game accessibility research and practice with a special focus on games for blind and visually impaired players.

Bristol Digital Game Lab Launch Reception!
Wednesday 7th September

The Bristol Digital Game Lab is a new research group, based in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Bristol. Coordinated by Dr Xiaochun Zhang and Dr Richard Cole, the Lab aims to bring together researchers and practitioners from a radically diverse range of perspectives to chart new possibilities for collaboration, both across disciplines and between Higher Education and the gaming industry, with digital games as a shared object of interest.

Unreal Engine Meetup!
Tuesday 13th September

Join us on the evening of Tuesday the 13th of September for an evening of presentations, networking and more - all sponsored by none other than Epic Games themselves.

We’re also very fortunate to have Aaran Langmead (Tech Artist & Evangelist at Epic Games) joining us in person to deliver a keynote speech about the exciting future of the Unreal Engine. Epic’s generosity doesn’t stop there - they will also be providing free food, drink and swag for all to enjoy.

We Speak Games Conference!
Tuesday 27th September


We Speak Games is the UK's first conference on Voice in Gaming, and it's being hosted right here in Bristol later this month! 
 
Voice and conversational technology are making it possible to interact with games in new ways - be that controlling the game, speaking to characters, or exploring worlds. This event is an opportunity to meet people working in this space, and get a heads-up on what's going on right now.
 
The summit is happening from 2-6pm on Tuesday 27th September at Origin Workspace in Berkeley Square. In-person tickets include at least six talks, with demos, Q&A sessions, and a complementary drink at the networking event after. Live stream tickets are also available.

Women In Games Festival - Tuesday 6th to Saturday 17th September

The Women in Games Festival enjoyed a super successful debut in 2021, with the two-week event embracing an IRL Launch Party, Games Jam, two-day Conference, Satellite Events and the Women in Games Global Awards. In 2022 we’re bringing back all of these elements, as well as adding two new important events – the Career & Networking Expo and the Women in Games Investment & Finance Forum. For more details, click here!

Everyone Can will see the return of their 4th annual fundraiser Game Together! Game Together is a weekend dedicated to gaming and raising funds to help disabled people game together. Money raised helps the Charity purchase assistive technology so that people of all abilities can game and also helps them to ensure their services remain free for disabled people. For more details, click here!
