Lake Laps
What did we see around Lake Estes?

American white pelican!
Most people don't realize that the white pelican is common along waterways of interior states
where they spend the summer on fresh water.
Their cousin, the brown pelican, prefer the coastal states and the salt water that borders them.
This pelican was spotted on Lake Estes. They won't stay in Estes Park for long but rather
migrate through here each spring.
