Sharing with you a hope-filled update on PICO California's statewide Renewal Initiative:
On August 26th, over 200 key state network stakeholders from all nine federations, including Faith in Action Bay Area--Board members, grassroots leaders, clergy, tribal elders, and community organizers--gathered virtually for our Faithful Leadership Assembly.
This statewide Leadership Assembly was the culmination of eight months of discernment, listening, analysis, and strategy development amongst the leadership of the PICO network. Our leadership presented a summary of Phase I of our Renewal Initiative, which features an updated vision, mission, theory of change, and network shifts.
After meditation and reflection, presentations and deliberations, the leadership of each member federation took a vote on the Phase I proposition: green ("we're all in"), yellow ("we have some questions that will help us decide whether we're in or out"), or red ("we're opting out of PICO California's future").
I'm excited to report that all of PICO California's nine member federations voted green in approval of our new mission, theory of change, and network priorities!
Thank you profoundly for making it possible for us to reach this critical milestone in our journey to build a more powerful, more prophetic state network.
Sharing with you some links and attachments that I hope will help illustrate the journey we've been on, and what took place on August 26:

While there is still much work to do in Phase II of our Renewal Initiative in the areas of strategy development and implementation between now and January 2022, we are grateful and hopeful about all that is possible when we commit ourselves to the sacred work of people-centered, multiracial, multi-faith community organizing.
¡Si se puede!
