Liberation Vigil for Ricardo,
Last ICE Detainee at Yuba County Jail
Saturday, October 30, 11 a.m.
Dolores Park, San Francisco
Please join us for an emergency vigil for the liberation Ricardo Vasquez, who is the only person still detained by ICE at Yuba County Jail. Ricardo Vasquez is a resident of San Mateo County and has suffered from medical neglect in the three years that he has been detained. His physical health has been quickly deteriorating in recent weeks. His mental health is also declining since he is isolated most of the day. We are urging ICE and Congresswoman Jackie Speier to release Ricardo immediately.
The #FreeTheYuba11 campaign has been fighting to terminate California's last public immigration detention contract between ICE and local jurisdictions and to free all those detained at Yuba County Jail. There were originally 11 immigrant detainees at Yuba when the campaign started, and now Ricardo is the last immigrant detainee there.
