Los inscritos en las XI Jornadas que deseen presentar una comunicación deberán enviar, antes del 4 de mayo de 2020, un resumen con una extensión máxima de 300 palabras. El texto completo, con un máximo de 3000 palabras, deberá enviarse en formato Word, antes del 31 de julio de 2020, para su posible publicación.

15th International Colloquium for the History of Natural Philosophy

From Hylomorphism to Theories of Matter

In the year 2020, the International Colloquium for the History of Philosophy of Nature, in its XV annual edition, is dedicated to the studies of rejection of Aristotelian notions of matter and form as viable foundations for the explanation of the natural phenomena. There is a special interest in papers dealing with terminological and conceptual development that happened when hylomorphism was confronted by new attempts to deal with the notion of matter at the beginning of Modern Philosophy.

The series of Colloquia for the History of Philosophy of Nature is supported by the Department of Philosophy, Centre for Research in History of Philosophy of Science (Physis), and the Graduate Programme in Philosophy of University of Campinas (Unicamp). The XV edition is organized in collaboration with Princeton University.

Academic Position (80%) Aristoteles Latinus

The Institute of Philosophy (KU Leuven) invites applications for a part time academic position (80 %) for the Aristoteles Latinus edition project. The successful candidate is expected to coordinate the Aristoteles Latinus editorial project, work on new editions, and engage in scholarship in the history of medieval philosophy.

SIEPM Junior Scholar Award
The SIEPM Junior Scholar Award is a new initiative and wants to help young scholars gain recognition in the field. The annual and open call for submissions consists of a scholarly paper published within a year of the submission deadline, or accepted for publication, on a topic related to medieval philosophy. This call is meant for doctoral and postdoctoral researchers and SIEPM membership is not required.
The Award: 500 Euros and a mention in the Bulletin de philosophie médiévale.
Deadline for sending in your paper is June 1st, 2020.

SIEPM Life-Time Achievement Award
The SIEPM Life-Time Achievement Award wishes to honor the achievement of scholars in the field and is awarded every five years. Every SIEPM member is eligible, and the winner will be invited as keynote speaker at the World Congress of 2022, that will take place in Paris. Any SIEPM member can make a nomination by writing to the SIEPM Secretariat before June 1st, 2020.

SIEPM One-To-One Stipends
The Société Internationale pour l'Étude de la Philosophie Médiévale (SIEPM) has created a new program called One-To-One Stipends. The One-To-One Stipends are meant to support junior individual researchers to visit and work with senior individual researchers. More information on this Stipend, as well as on the eligibility, conditions and application procedure. The deadline for applying is May 1, 2020.

Brepols-SIEPM Stipends
To facilitate attendance at the Annual Colloquium or the International Congress, Brepols-SIEPM stipends are available for researchers under the age of 35 or from low-currency countries. The stipends are € 500, or € 750 if the journey is transcontinental. One need not be a current SIEPM member to apply for these stipends.

The Colloquium will take place in Porto (Portugal) on 18 and 19 June 2020, and the theme will be “Per cognitionem visualem. The Visualization of Cognitive and Natural Processes in the Middle Ages”. The deadline to submit abstracts is 1st of February, 2020.
