Crews to Begin Local Street Plowing Thursday, Complete Friday
February 23, 2022 (12 p.m.) – Public Services crews worked continuously from sun up to sun down (yes, we still have a sun) and through Wednesday night battling snow accumulations on major streets, state trunklines, school routes, and other critical snow removal zones. At this time, crews continue to work these streets to get them as clear and safe as possible with the anticipation that we will begin plowing in local (residential) streets by mid-afternoon on Thursday.
When local street plowing begins, crews will start with Friday’s refuse routes, then move to Monday, Tuesday, etc. until all local streets are complete. The snow we’ve received is very heavy and wet, making it slow going from a plowing perspective, so we anticipate that snow removal will be completed in all areas in approximately 36 hours (Friday night). This is much slower than usual given the conditions. Please rest assured we’re plowing as safely and quickly as possible with all equipment and staff we have available to us. We greatly appreciate your patience!
