Tomorrow we are holding our first hybrid even of this year on preparing your pet for your return to non-virtual work with veterinarian Dr. Brooke Lewis! 🐶😺 Learn from an expert animal behaviorist and get all your questions answered by RSVPing!

There will be more events coming soon including a pet social and ableism panel. Also, get pumped for Forward Fest next month! We will be hosting 2 events and the virtual pass is FREE. 🎟

In order to increase health awareness and safety, we will continue to include a list of COVID-19 vaccination options 👩‍⚕️ in our newsletters.

New Approaches to Web Accessibility Requirements under WCAG3 

When: Tuesday, July 27th from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm (eastern time zone)
Where: Online, via Zoom


Hosted by Great Lakes ADA Center

The Section 508 Standards apply the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 to web content and other electronic content. Issued by the W3C, WCAG 2.0 is a globally recognized, technology-neutral standard. This session will feature new and differing approaches to web accessibility requirements proposed for the next generation of these guidelines, the draft WCAG 3.0, (or WCAG3).

Jeanne Spellman, lead editor and chair of the task force developing WCAG3, will review the background of the WCAG3 development process and discuss the team’s approach to accessibility standards. Jeanne will be joined in conversation by Bruce Bailey, IT Specialist at the Access Board, an active member with the Accessibility Guidelines Working Group (AGWG) of the W3C.

Through a structured mentoring program, you will gain entrepreneurial skills and mentorship to help your business launch, grow, or pivot. MERLIN's mentor roster of 100+ business leaders includes successful entrepreneurs, corporate executives, investors, and non-profit executives. This program is open to Wisconsin entrepreneurs or aspiring entrepreneurs in any industry and stage of company development. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis. Mentors Needed for Maydm Students

Mentors provide students with resources and access to connect with industry professionals, so they are able to explore all aspects of the STEM field.  Mentors are paired with a student during the summer and then work with their mentee for an hour a month throughout the following school year.

If you or someone you know would like to work with youth interested in computers and STEM we'd love for you to apply as a mentor. Diverse candidates are encouraged to apply.
