I’m writing to tell you that today, we are just 16 days from the New Year, and less than a month from the next General Assembly session. This year has flown by and I can’t thank you enough for your support and encouragement to date.
It’s been my goal to provide you with community updates through Facebook and Twitter daily, and general overviews monthly. I hope that you find my newsletters and website delegateadams.com helpful and easy to follow. In 2018, I have sent more than 35,000 letters to people’s homes providing updates, welcomes to new voters, condolence letters, and follow ups for constituent issues. I also provided thousands of District 68 kids with Honor Roll certificates, letters, workbooks, and coloring books. I have been out in community attending events and have held more than a dozen town hall meetings.
All this to say I hope that you believe I am doing a good job, and that you would like to see me re-elected in 2019. December couldn’t be a more inconvenient time to ask more from you, and yet here I go….
December 31st is the next filing finance deadline. Those of us in the General Assembly are not allowed to raise or accept funds during session. Other candidates however can. After the wave in 2017, followed by some hard fought wins for Congress, I understand that money doesn’t grow on trees and we are approaching the holiday season- and yet the fact remains, I need to raise money now- not next Spring, not just next Fall, but now.
Why now? Because despite having proved otherwise last year, (with your help of course) the amount of money one raises still speaks to the strength of ones candidacy. So I am asking for your help now. My goal is to raise $28,675 more by the end of December.
I am grateful to be here and I hope that you feel well represented. I thank you very much for your consideration.
Happy holidays to you and yours!
Love & Peace,
