Applications for Prosper Portland’s 2022 Inspiring Diversity Grant are now open

We are now accepting applications for Prosper Portland's Inspiring Diversity Grant.

The grant offers funding for local traded-sector companies to inspire creative, equity-related best practices around workforce, community partnerships, marketing and communications.

Participation in the program gives your company the chance to contribute to best practices for the larger business community.

Applications for the grant are due Friday, April 22, 2022

Please note: Preference will be given to companies that can match the requested funds and that are within one of the city’s identified clusters (Athletic & Outdoor/Consumer Products, Green Cities Products & Services, Technology & Media, Manufacturing).

If selected, grant recipients must also agree to sign up for Portland Means Progress, a citywide initiative that provides connections for businesses to hire local underrepresented students and young professionals of color, purchase from businesses owned by people of color, and create diverse and vibrant workforce and company cultures.

This will be the fourth year of Prosper Portland’s Inspiring Diversity Grant. Portland Green Cities companies such as Green Hammer, Ride Report, and Bora have been recipients.

"The Prosper Portland grant allows Green Hammer the opportunity to put equity and inclusion at the forefront of our company training priorities and delve into our implicit biases and internalized “isms” (racism, sexism, etc.). Through upcoming trainings, we expect to increase our focus on equity and create next steps for a more inclusive workplace."

- Beth Campbell, Green Hammer: (2019 Grant Recipient)

“Ride Report is excited to leverage Prosper Portland’s Inspiring Diversity grant to help our local community use alternate forms of transportation provided by the scooter fleets being deployed in Portland. Our program creates an integral, but currently absent bridge, between the underserved and marginalized populations of Portland, and effective education, empowerment, and access to micromobility transportation. Having this new resource will have a huge impact on how we develop our product to be mindful of the perspectives of the city residents we serve.

- Alexis Johnson, Ride Report: (2019 Grant Recipient)
