BLW partners with the East Madison/Monona Coalition for the Aging to offer resources and programs to senior members of our community!
Back in October, Ericka Booey accepted a position as the new Community Outreach Worker for East Madison/Monona Coalition of the Aging and North/Eastside Senior Coalition. Her outreach efforts are an attempt to eliminate isolation of seniors in their own homes and to connect seniors to whatever community resources they may need.
Ericka Booey was born and raised in Gary, Indiana. Ericka moved to Madison, Wisconsin July of 1999 with four sons and ran a state certified in-home daycare. During that time she decided to go back to school and graduated from Madison College's Human Service program with an associate degree in Applied Science.
During the last two years of the her college experience Ericka decided to close her in-home daycare and take a nightshift staff position at the Salvation Army homeless shelter for women and families. Ericka has also beem a Social Service Specialist for Dane County Human Services part time for the last three years.
Ericka brings a wealth of knowledge in community resources to East Madison/Monona Coalition of the Aging. Her role is going out into the community to make relationships with contacts for seniors and the seniors themselves. She connects seniors to the resources needed to ensure that they can remain independent through community resource assistance.
