Dear <<First Name>>,
The Joy of Discomfort

We need to spend time in our comfort zones. It’s an essential part of our lives. We need to get rest, relax and build up our energy so that we can again go out and go do what we are destined to do.

To grow, however, we need to get out of our comfort zones. We can only make progress if we are able to endure discomfort, if we can stretch ourselves to do something unfamiliar, to try something new.

This can become very difficult if are stretched too far out of our comfort zone, if we are thrown into the proverbial deep end. It’s not a fun place to be! We can perhaps survive, but chances are, if we get stretched too far too soon, that we will feel overwhelmed. It may even cause us to quit altogether.

Joy can be found in finding the balance. If we can strike the sweet spot between stretching ourselves and still feeling that we have control, we will reach a place of growth. We will be able to steadily grow, make progress and ultimately reach a place of joy!
I hope you found this helpful. More of the same can be found on or by following me on LinkedIn, Facebook or YouTube.

Thank you. Until next week! Let’s all practice to stretch ourselves out of our comfort zones this week. Remember, growth happens at the edge of your comfort zone!
