EU PRESIDENCY EVENT:

Future of Work: Making It e-Easy

The event will take place on Sept 13-14th @Tallinn Creative Hub (Kultuurikatel), Põhja pst 27a, Tallinn

For centuries and generations, we have seen work and employment in a deliberate and nondeliberate shift. Today, we are once again debating the direction, extent and pace of the technological achievements, and the ever-changing economic landscape that will change both the quantity and the quality of work.

More importantly, we need to think about and negotiate the way we work in the future. We need to question the old recipes for managing employment, social security, development, and matching the skills.

The Future of Work: Making It e-Easy brings together social partners, policy makers, academics and others to address strategic readiness to capitalize on the opportunities offered by digitalization, automation and the readiness to shape work in a way that benefits employees, employers and society as a whole.

The conference will focus on the following questions

* how digitalization and automation are changing the world of work, and could we foresee disruptive changes?
* what could the European Union and member states policy responses be to enable and benefit from the wanted changes and tackle unwanted changes?

Our aim is to provide a vision for developing policies for the changing nature of work that will ensure high employment, decent jobs, adequate social security, and a highly skilled workforce for the productive digital economy via digital solutions.

The conference on the future of work will be organized by the Government of Estonia, in the context of the Estonian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

The event is free of charge.
