As you know, the Berkeley Flea Market has reached a critical time in its life. Community Services United is using the time of the shutdown for re-organizing and rewriting its business plan. It is our intention to fundraise our expenses so that we can re-open in April with publicity, organizational changes and a clear plan about how to move forward. PLEASE JOIN US!
Publicize Go Fund Me. Our Go Fund Me goal is $20,000 to ensure that we get through the season intact. $10,000 to get us re-started in April.
February 26thCouncilmember Ben Bartlett sponsors resolution of support for the Flea Market. Please attend the City Council meeting and show your support for the market. Tell the City officials why this market is so precious and should be supported. Bring signs! Show love! Read the resolution. Our item is #15 on the agenda. Attend City Council Mtg at: 6pm,1231 Addison Street, Berkeley (Notice the NEW location for City Council meetings) You can speak during the Public Comment period.
March 2 Meeting at Sports Basement. Join us for updates and discussion about how efforts to re-open the market are moving forward and how you can plug in to the organizing to make the market better than ever. Bring your voice and your ENERGY to the meeting! We expect that some folks from the Berkeley Office of Economic Development or Special Events will be there to answer questions as well.
April 6th Re-opening. We intend to re-open the market on April 6th. We want YOU to be a vendor and tell your friends who sell things that they should come and be a part of building a better, more vibrant and diverse flea market.
