Cheryl and her two-year-old daughter have recently secured housing through our permanent supportive housing program. Before being referred to our program, Cheryl and her daughter were residing at a woman’s shelter that offered them safety and guidance when they needed it most. Why Give?

GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past seven years, it has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

Michael is a widowed father of two children, ages 5 and 7. Michael and his children have successfully maintained housing for the past three years and were well on their way to no longer needing the help of our permanent supportive housing program. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Michael was laid off in July after already experiencing significant cuts to his hours. Learn more about Michael's story and how you can help HERE.

Make an Impact!

This year for GivingTuesday, SHC is asking for donations of gift cards to aid individuals and families in our housing program. We know this year has been difficult for our community and your generosity is greatly appreciated.

Your gift directly benefits a household in one of our housing programs.

Richard is a 63-year-old senior who has been living unsheltered for the past two years due to several medical impairments. Like most medically fragile seniors, Richard fears catching the coronavirus so he has been avoiding populated areas such as our local shelters. Unfortunately, Richard’s health issues have been exacerbated by his living conditions and lack of access to sustainable resources. Learn more about Richard's story and how you can help HERE.

Ways To Give

You can send a gift card in any denomination to SHC. Upon receiving your gift card donation we will provide it directly to individuals and families who need a little extra help with necessities such as groceries, transportation, clothing, and shelter. You can:
