This third edition of the BIST Annual Conference will be focused on human health and attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the work of some of the world’s leading experts in optogenetics applied to neuroscience. BIST centre IBEC and EMBL join forces

The Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC), a BIST centre, and the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) aim to strengthen future collaboration and have signed a 5-year agreement this month. The Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG), another BIST centre, also has an established a partnership with EMBL. [+]

ICFO researchers find a plethora of states in Magic-Angle Graphene

A team of researchers at The Institute of Photonics Sciences (ICFO), a BIST centre, publishes a Nature study that opens a realm of a new and richer physics that so far, no theory can explain, but which appears to be the origin of new phenomena. [+]

ICIQ researchers open up black box of heterogeneous catalysis

In a recent article published in Nature Communications, researchers at the Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ), a BIST centre, show a method that will make it easier to discover heterogeneous catalysts able to transform the non-edible fraction of biomass into valuable chemical products. ICN2 and Microsoft expand partnership in quantum computing research

The Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2), a BIST centre, is expanding its collaboration with the global network of Microsoft Quantum Labs in the context of Microsoft’s goal to develop a scalable quantum computer. [+]

Graphene and 2D materials break the limits of silicon technology

In a review published in Nature, researchers and collaborators of The Institute of Photonic Sciences (ICFO), a BIST centre, report on the current state, challenges, and opportunities of graphene and 2D material integration in silicon technology. [+]
