The Big Tent Gets Bigger
Morgan County's Big Tent Event attracts movers and shakers prepping for 2020. Photo by Craig Stevens.
Due to a cold, wet June, this year's Big Tent was the Brush Jaycee Building. But we all had a great time anyway, Pool Party or no Pool Party.
How does your Gardner Go?

The tireless activists of the Morgan County Democratic Party assembled a fair majority of the declared Democratic Senatorial candidates, as well as CD4 hopeful Ike McCorkle and a welcome group of organizers from the State Democratic Party. What a difference from 2016 and 2018, when Colorado's rural areas were, um, somewhat overlooked by the state party. Not now! Surely the way CD4 and other rural areas exceeded expectations in 2018 had a lot to do with the "all Colorado" strategy we are seeing this year in preparation for a strong 2020.

Each of the Senatorial candidates we heard from was impressive in her or his own way. Each of them could beat Cardboard Cory Gardner with one hand tied behind her back. If you missed the Big Tent Event, you can still watch it on Craig Stevens' new WTF Blue Movies page, here.

Impact: Longmont

With the Colorado Legislative Session recessed for 2019, Capitol Letters is being replaced with a series of articles on Climate Change and how local government can make a difference. The climate bills passed in Colorado are a good start, but what will it mean to put them into practice?

Candidates Gallery
This month we thought we'd feature 2020 Senate hopeful Trish Zornio, who was the first candidate to announce her opposition to Cardboard Cory Gardner way back in 2018.

Trish was unable to attend the Big Tent Event because her mom was in a motorcycle accident, and Trish is still caring for her. Let's hope she's able to make the Senate Forum in Akron next month!
