In the Eye of the Hurricane
Democratic yard signs thicker than hollyhocks and rosebushes in the yards of Fort Morgan and Brush, Colorado. Who would have thought it?

In the eye of the hurricane, in the eyes of the world.

Voter guides are all passed out. On Thursday we begin calling people who  have not returned their ballots. Time now to reflect on how much things have changed.  READ ALL ABOUT IT HERE!

Coming out as Democrats

WTF Colorado began reaching out to Democrats all over CD4 just after the 2016 election. From our "safe space" in Longmont, we were pretty horrified to hear that folks were afraid to put up yard signs or canvass in their own neighborhoods. We wondered if we were going to evolve into a legal aid society.

We saw it for ourselves a couple of months later as Seth and Marcia spent a day in the Douglas County Democrats' booth at Parker Days. Locals high on Trump's recent victory gave the booth a pointedly wide berth, and wouldn't let their kids eat Democratic candy. When did things begin to change?

Vote No
on Amendment 74!
We were certainly inspired just a few weeks later on the 4th of July in Brush. Along for the ride on the Democrats' float, and running alongside with video cameras, WTF got an eyeful of people's reaction to the brave showing that the Dems put together. Here and there would be a yardful of supporters who stood to watch us pass. Even better were the cautious little waves that we got from people whose families and friends were, um, somewhat less than sympathetic to our  cause.
We had the time of our lives chronicling the growth of CD4's Democratic movement from Yuma to Lamar. From bird-dogging Ken Buck and Cory Gardner, at picnics and town halls, through candidate forums and primary debates, you let us in on the struggle for acceptance and recognition. Now here we are on the brink of what could be the most important general election in this country's history. And it's OK to be a Democrat.

WTF was there, but you did all the work, dear Readers. And we are so proud of you! Barely a seat is going uncontested in what used to be a deep-red district.  The woman at the top of the ticket has outraised the incumbent! CD4 will never be the same. It's almost November. Let's sprint to the finish line together!
