Informational Meeting about Upcoming Work at the Wastewater Treatment Plant

The San Mateo community is invited to attend an informational meeting on August 21st at Parkside Elementary School (1685 Eisenhower Street). The meeting will start promptly at 6:00 p.m.

At the meeting, Clean Water Program staff will provide updates on the progress of the overall program and upcoming construction work to upgrade and expand the City’s wastewater treatment plant.

The Clean Water Program is a multi-year capital improvement program that will upgrade our sanitary sewer system and the wastewater treatment plant to improve service, align with the City’s sustainability goals, and comply with regulatory requirements to protect the environment and public health for years to come.

“We encourage the San Mateo community to attend this meeting to learn about the progress the program has been making on much-needed improvements for the wastewater treatment plant and sewer system. Maintaining this infrastructure and ensuring that the system continues to meet current and future operating requirements is essential to the health and well-being of our community,” stated Deryk Daquigan, Interim Program Manager.

The meeting will include a brief presentation and time for questions. For questions about the Clean Water Program, please call (650) 727-6870, email info@CleanWaterProgramSanMateo.org, or visit www.CleanWaterProgramSanMateo.org.

Private Sewer Lateral Cost-Sharing Program

Did you know that City of San Mateo provides grants to property owners for 50% of the cost of a full sewer lateral replacement (from where it exits the structure to the main line connection) with a maximum grant of $5,000?

All types of properties (residential, commercial, multi-family, etc.) in the city of San Mateo are eligible for the lateral replacement cost sharing as part of the Private Sewer Lateral Cost-Sharing Program. Spot repairs and partial repairs are not included in the cost-sharing program.

Applications for fiscal year 2018-19 are now available. This program is very popular, and funding is limited. We encourage you to apply early.

For additional information, please see the Cost Sharing Program homepage.
