DYW D&A Business Newsletter
- September 2020

Welcome to Our New Business Newsletter
In this update:

Welcome

We doubt that this was the 2020 that anyone had envisaged just 8 short months ago but as schools return and more and more businesses prepare to re-open we recognise the amazing efforts made by our local community to adjust to our new ‘normal’.

DYW has always worked to bring together employers and education to help young people transition more easily into the workforce. We need to continue to build these partnerships more now than ever to ensure every young person has a positive destination.

While we must keep a physical distance, we are so grateful for the businesses who have helped with our virtual reach and we are keen to keep exploring all the different and innovative ways we can continue to build this virtual engagement.

If you have an interest in supporting a school with some virtual activities please get in touch with our team, contact@dywda.co.uk, alternatively, click here to read our Business Booklet.

DWP Virtual Mentoring Circle for 18-24 Year Olds

Due to COVID 19 we need to adapt our ways of working with all claimants to benefits. We need to adapt in this virtual world and make it accessible for all. Being part of our Virtual Mentoring Circle will allow this, connecting yourself with young people interested in the job you do or the sector you work within digitally.

Mentoring a young person will help them develop specific skills and knowledge that will enhance the less experienced person’s professional growth.

Rather than offering mentoring on a 121 basis mentoring circles gives mentees the opportunity to share their experiences, barriers and challenges they face. The opportunity to share their challenges in a group with other young people to know they’re not alone in how they feel.

Click here to find out more about how the Mentoring Circle works.
