A Message from the NLO Executive Director
As we continue to cope with the ever changing environment, it is now more important than ever for Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies to showcase support for our members impacted during this unprecedented time. Our local connections provide us with a unique understanding of member needs, and provides an opportunity to showcase our leadership and support.
In this edition of Labor Matters, the National Labor Office is proud to emphasize the efforts of the BCBS system on both a national and local level in response to COVID-19. For those who are unsure what their individual Plan is doing to combat COVID-19, BCBSA launched an interactive map users may access to gain insights at the state level. Members who need care but are unsure of leaving the safety of their home should consider telehealth options to address their needs.
In addition, we cannot forget April is Stress Awareness Month. It can be easy to fall into unhealthy habits and routines as environments change. Hopefully a few of the details shared here provide the tools needed to maintain good mental health in these challenging times.
Looking forward, May 1st is Workers’ Day. Commemorating the historic struggles and gains made by workers and the labor movement. If anyone in your family is working on the front lines of this pandemic, please take a moment on this day to thank them.
