Rocky Horror Picture Show

Northwest Branch Recreational Park

With just a jump to the left and a step to the right, transport yourself to the galaxy of Transylvania this spooky season with a FREE outdoor screening of the 1970’s classic “Rocky Horror Picture Show”. Starting at dusk, shadow cast company Bloody Mayhem will take the stage and introduce the show and perform the scenes as they unfold on the big screen.

It is recommended that movie-goers bring their own lawn chairs and blankets for sitting back and enjoying the event. Food and drink vendors will be on site. And, audience participation and character costumes are strongly encouraged for all guests!

Saturdays & Sundays in October mean our popular Eye Spy Trains are back for Halloween. Great for families of all ages, Montgomery Parks’ Cabin John Miniature Train and the Wheaton Miniature Train will take a ride through “Trainslyvania.” Purchase tickets in advance online to guarantee your ideal train time and date. Limited tickets will be available to purchase on-site.

Cabin John Regional Park Amphitheater
Join Montgomery Parks Sunday mornings this fall with ‘Sunday Serenade’ for live music. Enjoy the fall foliage and crisp morning air as you lay out on the lawn and listen to jazz music performed by local artists and groups.

Craft Cocktail Series: Fall Elixirs and Mixers

Argyle Local Park

Learn how to mix and garnish several cocktails using locally distilled organic liquors! In this two-hour class, you will learn all the cocktail making skills you need to impress your friends and family this fall. Your registration not only includes admission, but all ingredients and supplies, light refreshments, and a take-home recipe card! You must be 21 plus to register.

Brookside Nature Center is turning 60! Celebrate the county's oldest nature center with us. Brookside Gardens

Brookside Gardens transforms into a magical winter wonderland for the annual Garden of Lights display. Stroll through the one-half mile, outdoor, walk-through exhibit and enjoy the twinkling lights and glimmering one-of-a-kind displays adorning the flowerbeds and grounds throughout the 50-acre horticultural gem in Wheaton.

South Germantown Recreational Park

Trick and Treat Yourself at Montgomery Parks Spooktacular. This free kids’ Halloween event features several attractions and performers to get your little ones in the Halloween spirit! Check out some magic tricks at the magician’s corner, add to your costume at the face painting area, create a Halloween art project at the craft station and more!
