Inspirational Videos We've LOVED—
Your Life Is Not A Journey
A video filled with great quotes and a great monologue by the British philosopher: Alan Watts:
a cute Brita ad that’s all about the power to change
Starring Rudy Mancuso & Stephen Curry:
A full-length film based on the philosophies and teachings of Wayne Dyer:
(2 hours - because it's a WHOLE movie!) SO GOOD!
A few stand-out ideas include:
-You don’t attract what you want, you attract who you are.
-You are not what you have, what you do, or what other people think of you.
-Live from purpose. Your inner calling is not something you find, it’s something you’re connected to always...Follow your own compass. Trust in yourself and the own wisdom that created you.
-When you have a quantum shift (an occurrence or moment in life that causes you to drastically change and lasts with you forever), your priorities usually change too
Studies have shown:
Priorities For Men (before a quantum shift)
Priorities For Women (before a quantum shift)
Priorities For Men (after a quantum shift)
Priorities For Women (after a quantum shift)
1.Own personal growth
2.Sense of Self Esteem
Quotes We're Pondering This Week—
(We like to find a lot of these, so we recommend for you to pick your favorite single quote here that you read and focus on it throughout the week.)
“If you did not get what you want it was a sign that you did not really want it or you tried to bargain over the price.” ~Rudyard Kipling
“Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?'" ~Martin Luther King Jr.
“To laugh often and much, to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children… to leave the world a bit better… To know even one life has breathed easier because you lived. This is to have succeeded.“ ~Ralph Waldo Emerson
“Mankind's greatest achievements have come about by talking, and its greatest failures by not talking.” ~Stephen Hawking
“When you judge another, you do not define them, you define yourself” ~Wayne W. Dyer
“It’s all about adjusting along the way, not making the perfect call.” ~Gary Vaynerchuck
“We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time.” ~T.S. Eliot
“What we focus on we create—Be it good or bad.” ~Gabrielle Bernstein
“It’s not that your experiences change but that your experience of your experiences change.” ~Gabrielle Bernstein
"The Xmotion’s exterior was inspired by combining traditional Japanese nature views like Mt. Fuji with the electric and modern surrounds of the city, per Nissan, and it feels like something that would be at home in Blade Runner as well as in modern Tokyo."
If you love storytelling, this site is AWESOME. You literally could spend hours combing this site and all its incredible troves of information. Designed like a periodic table of elements, this website covers all the basics for storytelling and story dissection. It's an incredible (and fun!) resource to dive deeper into tropes, nerdery, archetypes, structure, and so on!
It even has things at the bottom like "Star Wars" or "Ghostbusters" and you can see what elements are present in those movies because it highlights them for you!
If you want to see a particular element and how it's used in different genres like Disney, or comics, or other movies, it's a great way to see how certain story techniques are used.
This is a spiritual book about how to connect with the energy of the universe. The book is rich in universal life lessons, meditations you can do, and great sayings like:
“Your vibes speak louder than your words.”
“Energy flow where your intention goes.”
“Obstacles are detours in the right direction.”
My favorite aspect of the book was how to have more purpose, power, and connection to each day by replacing the fear-based stories that often play (and replay) in our head with positive projections and love-based stories instead.
“The same way the fearful stories block you from the flow of the Universe, your positive stories empower your life.”
I've been struggling with the battle between contentment vs ambition. What it means to be happy. When will I ever stop striving for more. This book had an amazing approach and perspective to help me understand what was really important and what I would be looking for later in life. It actually is a compliment to the movie which is free on YouTube (and linked above). Some really good content in here if you've been wondering what the purpose of it all was and where life goes towards the end of your days.
I was looking for a good fantasy/sci-fi book and decided to give this one a try. I had seen on the Amazon 2017 list for Top 5 Unputdownable was a book by Brandon Sanderson (Oathbringer) who wrote the last three novels of Robert Jordan's series, The Wheel of Time. So I decided to pick up the first book of the series and it's been actually pretty good! Sony Pictures is even making a tv series out of it.
That’s it for now!
Always Remember, "Chews" Joy :)
