This week's most recent positive resources & insights to help you become the best version of yourself!
From Mandy and Jonathan Chew :)
Happy start of February! Hope you're beginning this 2nd month of the year quite well. This year, Mandy and I are focusing on the subject of "self-sabotage," that amazing ability we all have to put ourselves down even if we had an incredible success happen to us.
This happens because we have a lot of rules and ideas around what it means to be "perfect," something we seem to fall short of all the time. And failing to meet this standard leads to our biggest sources of self-loathing.
There's a Japanese concept known as wabi-sabi that says the beauty of an object is found in its imperfection, which makes things unique, genuine and beautiful (i.e. the cracks in the pot, the warp in the wood, the spatter of the ink, etc).
If we make peace with and embrace our imperfection, it puts the emphasis back where it should be: continual improvement. It turns our mistakes from landmines into street signs, pointing us toward where we need to go.
So the next time you think you've messed something up or find yourself obsessing over getting everything perfect, be kind to yourself, pull yourself out of it, see it as an opportunity to re-focus on what's important, and Keep Moving Forward. It's what you're building that counts.

A Positive Quote We're Pondering This Week—
"There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self."
- W. L. Sheldon
This is one of the best Twitter exchanges I've ever seen! :P I (Jonathan) always say that the best response (to haters and mean people) is to respond with kindness and understanding. This is a fantastic example of what that a loving response can do. Let's all try to emulate this!
In a celestial game of "Where's Waldo?", Hubble's sharp vision uncovered a never-before-seen dwarf galaxy located far behind the cluster's crowded stellar population. The loner galaxy is in our own cosmic backyard, only 30 million light-years away.
"Frame your thoughts like this -- you are an old person, you won't let yourself be enslaved by this any longer, no longer pulled like a puppet by every impulse, and you'll stop complaining about your present fortune or dreading the future."
- Marcus Aurelius, Meditations, 2.2
A good Samaritan offered to pay for hotel rooms for 70 homeless people who were camped out in tents in the bitter cold that blanketed Chicago.
Relationship Positivity —
Having just re-read Tony Robbin's Awaken the Giant Within, we just wanted to share a very valuable paragraph on Relationships that we want to always keep at the forefront of our minds as a strive to create a strong and loving marriage:
(from Ch. 21 - Relationship Destiny, The place to Share and Care) 2. Some of the biggest challenges in relationships come from the fact that most people enter a relationship in order to get something: they're trying to find someone who's going to make them feel good. In reality, the only way a relationship will last is if you see your relationship as a place that you go to give, and not a place that you go to take.
Let us try to remember to give to our relationships and not constantly demand something from them. Decide right now that it's more important to be in love than to be right.
Hope your year is off to a great start!
