Hey there Positopians,

Mandy and Jonathan Chew here!

We hope you've had a wonderful month. They say that April showers bring May flowers and we are wishing for the most beautiful flowers to bloom in your life, whatever they might be. We, and maybe all of humanity, are in a new state of flowering and transformation.

April is one of the two months that start with 'A' so it's also a good month to check the "Agreements" that you've made with yourself and take the opportunity to change them. Agreements such as "I'm not good enough" or "I'll never be able to do that" can subconsciously affect us more than we think.

Instead set your own new agreements! Here are some examples from the book The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom by Don Miguel Ruiz

1. Be impeccable w/ your word
2. Don't take anything personally
3. Don't make assumptions
4. Always do your best

Be creative! You can create the future self you want to be and then check in with yourself during the next 'A' month in August!

As Eckhart Tolle says in his book, A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life's Purpose, "You do not become good by trying to be good, but by finding the goodness that is already within you and allowing that goodness to emerge."

Tips to Avoid Toxic Positivity

Written by Lynn Hickernell, Hindsight is So 2020

Instead of saying:
“Everything happens for a reason.”
Say:
“It’s okay to feel bad sometimes.”

Instead of saying:
“Failure is not an option.”
Say:
“Failure is part of growth.”

Instead of saying:
“Look on the bright side.”
Say:
“It can be difficult to see the good in this situation, but we will make sense of it when we can."
