We just got back from celebrating our mother Gina Chew's 60th Birthday in Las Vegas!! Woot woot! We hope we look as good as she does when we reach 60!
An interesting website dedicated to the philosophy of positive discipline, which helps provide teaching and parenting techniques that can develop mutually respecting relationships between adults and children. Criteria for Positive Discipline include being kind and firm at the same time, teaching respect and concern for others, and inviting children to discover how they can use personal power in constructive ways.
Exploring her dad's mission and personal philosophy, Shannon Lee converses about life and how we can be truest to our selves. Not only are the stories and quotes about Bruce Lee touching and inspirational but the core values explored are always insightful and applicable to daily living.
This is a podcast that explores different Self-Help books every week and the hosts have to apply the lessons directly into their lives and document their struggles/findings. Not only is it inspirational and educational, it is also warm, poignant and reaaaallllyyyy funny!
A new product is now developed that allows you to safely track where your child is at all times. The Jiobit App delivers location alerts at any distance. With live map views to allow you to always find your child. It's good for both peace of mind and in case of an emergency.
Sci-Fi / Future—
What Life Will Look Like in Twenty Years
Michio Kaku made some interesting predictions about the future including cool things like smart paper that is both digital and physical and the eradication of aging.
I had seen these movies and always known of the story but for some reason reading the books was still a strangely intimate experience. The books are shorter than I expected and extremely to the point (The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe is only a little over 200 pages) yet they have an intriguing quality to them that keeps you turning the page, even in spite knowing the story.
I've been trying to catch up on a series called "The Stormlight Archive" by Brandon Sanderson. He just released the newest installment called Oathbringer which got called the most "Unputdownable" book by Amazon in 2017. So I decided to start with the beginning of the series. My friend also recommended it to me as well! So I dove head-first! Little did I know that each book is pretty much 1000 pages long, so it's amazing how intricate the world that Brandon Sanderson creates! It's definitely a fantasy heavy novel, but overall it's filled with fun positive concepts. If you want to get lost in a world, then pick up this book!
That’s it for now!
