Equipping Ministry Update (Formerly Adult Sunday School)
The equipping ministry team wanted to give you an update on our progress. We have refined the purpose of equipping ministry to " to equip people for life and ministry addressing the needs of the body by Spirit-led Word-centered teaching, producing fruitfulness."

The next step in our process is to find out what the needs of the body are. The team will be asking people in our church some questions. The questions will be something like this:
1. Do you attend adult Sunday School? Why or why not?
2. What are some classes that you need that would help you to follow Christ?
3. What are some areas in your life that you need help with? (example finances, marriage parenting)
4. What keeps you up at night?

If you would like to answer these questions feel free to email Pastor Mike at mike@efclascruces.org and you can send written answers. We are not sending out a survey as we want to have conversations with people. Please feel free to reach out to any of the team members if you would like to talk with someone from the equipping ministry. The team members are Pastor Jeremiah, Pastor Mike, Abby Oliver, Peter Fowler, Mary Eiceman, and Rona Powell.

Hymn Sing, Thanks and Pie!
Church family,

This year for our thanksgiving eve service, Nov. 23rd at 7pm, we will be having a hymn sing, a time of thanksgiving, and pie. Find a hymn you want to sing, come share what you are thankful to God for, and don't forget to bring a pie to share! We are looking forward to this evening!

Thank you,
Christopher Yee
Administrative Assistant Update
Dear Church Family,

We wanted to let you know that Naomi Yee will be resigning from her position as Administrative Assistant at the end of December 2022. We so appreciate her dedication and service to our church since August 2019 in this way. She has always done tasks willingly and with a joyful spirit while serving. Naomi will continue to serve our church in the various ways she always has in Awana, digging deeper and such. We also appreciate that she will take on the Free and Clear as a volunteer in the new year. Please be sure to thank her for serving as an administrative assistant.
As a note, we are not currently planning to replace the position of Administrative Assistant in 2023 and the staff and volunteers will pick up the work they do.

Household Swap
Are you tired the clutter in your home? Are you tired of seeing things around that you don't need? Are you ready to start sorting through stuff so your kids and grandkids don't have to deal with it later?

Bring it to the swap! We accept anything: clothes, kitchen items, tools, and outdoor items. If it is at your house, we accept it!

My vision is to do this twice a year and try to get other churches and families involved. It's an outreach for the Christian community as well as the unchurched community. I would like to see other churches involved and for families to invite their friends and acquaintances.

Drop off items is Friday, December 9th from 3:00pm-7:00pm at First EFC.

Come back Saturday morning from 9:00am-12:00pm and get anything that you need for free!

We will open it up to the community or people that didn't have anything to donate at 1:00pm and it will go until 3:00pm.

The items that are left will be donated to a thrift store.

Volunteers are needed! Please email or text Tattney Flores (575-751-1089, tattflores@gmail.com) if you have time to come help volunteer! Volunteers get to "shop" first!
Volunteers Needed
The Awana team greatly appreciates the volunteers who have been setting up chairs over the past two months!!!  We still need to fill in dates in late November and December.  If you would like to volunteer a group to set up chairs, please contact Courtney Klima at 575-556-4393.  We recommend groups of at least 4 people who can lift chairs with at least one person who is comfortable pushing the dolly with the stacks of chairs.
