"Tomorrow is the end of the world. What is your plan for today? As Stephen Hawking predicted, we have no defense. Breathe in. Breathe out. Just relax. Focus on this very moment. This moment you are alive. Only this moment is real. You are right here. You are, in Heidegger's term, being-in-the-world. Live this moment to its fullest. Live this moment to its fullest. Feel it. Sense it. Learn how to embrace your anxiety. According to Kierkegaard, anxiety is but the dizziness of freedom. Anxiety is freedom's possibility. Whoever has learned to be anxious in the right way has learned the ultimate. Remember you will never stop existing. You will be forever. Because, just as Neil deGrasse Tyson observes, in fact the universe is in us, and we are not only figuratively but literally Stardust."
The pre-apocalypse consultancy Dasein.be is open for business. It helps clients to plan their itinerary on the last day before the end of the world. With an extra fee, the consultant would rehearse the last day with the client, for example, helping to know how to smoke the last cigarette or drink the last cup of tea. As stated in the promotional materials of the company, “Plan Ahead. Rehearse.” Click here for appointments.
Dasein.be is an art project by Mel Chan. She graduated from MA Artistic Research KABK in 2019. Click here for more.
On 28th of September 2020 Yael Davids publicly defended her research concluding the first Creator Doctus (CrD) trajectory. She was awarded the first CrD title!
Yael Davis is one of the first researchers to have completed the ‘Creator Doctus’ (CrD) degree. Davis research, A Daily Practice, is focused on somatic learning. This focus is inspired by the work of Dr. Moshé Feldenkrais that developed a method for people to change bodily habits from within. Click here for more info on Creator Doctus.

Voiceblind is a new component of ARIAS presenting a short series of q&a’s with artists and researchers. The project aims to provide a platform for critical voices to be heard, paying attention to voices that unpack alternative research processes.
What can or should art education do in a moment when society is shaken by an unprecedented combination of political, economic, and sanitary crises, also affecting the artistic field to a point that it is impossible to foresee how it can operate and develop? A series of Research Labs query deviations from the norm. The Labs are open to encounters and documented for future endeavors.
ARIAS stands in solidarity with the Budapest University of Theater and Film Arts.

Imagining Scenarios Through Art and Design.
Edited and composed by: Gabrielle Kennedy
This book offers a unique look at the different faces of intersectional art, design and research. Bringing together diverse practices (artistry, design and writing practices and academic research) provides insight into how an artistic research process is shaped and developed. The kaleidoscopic convergence of these approaches is causing an exciting shift in thinking about how knowledge within the arts is created, feeds daily practice and vice versa.
