Welcome to the ICNY Update

Working together to resist the Trump agenda and fight for democratic ideals.
Joker’s Wild

Last week, when it was reported that Donald Trump promised to pardon any of his aides who broke the law in the interest of building his border wall, White House officials said he was ‘joking.’ Three months ago, Trump asked the audience at a Florida rally how to stop migrants from crossing into our nation. When someone shouted, “Shoot them,” he ‘joked’, “Only in the Panhandle you can get away with that statement.” And, of course, Trump has ‘joked’ on numerous occasions about serving another 10 or 14 years. Steve Martin once wrote, “What is comedy? Comedy is the art of making people laugh without making them puke.” By that definition, Donald Trump does not do comedy. Now, as the Democratic field narrows and we envision the year ahead of us, it is time for us to be dead serious and get this bad joke out of office.
