Less than 6 months to go! It's time to start counting down!
Have you been keeping up-to-date with our Facebook readers' group? That's where we share the news as it happens including letting you know when one of our attending authors releases a new book and when their books are on sale. It's also a great place to go to interact with other readers and authors online. (If not, don't worry. We will re-cap all the main headlines in the newsletter.)
But if you haven't joined yet, and you want to be one of the first to know what is going on, click here. It is that easy.
If you are a member of our Facebook readers' group, a useful how-to-make-Facebook-work-for-you tip is that the more you interact with a group or on a page, the more Facebook shows you those updates. So keep those likes and comments coming. Plus we do love to hear from you.
Not a Facebook fan? You can also follow us on Twitter ... and ... now on Instagram. The West Coast Fiction Festival is slowing taking over the (social media) world. Tag us into your bookish posts so we can see what you're reading. From WA? We'd love to see your favourite places so we can share them with our interstate visitors.
Plus you can check out the website to find all the signing authors, plus more general information about the event.
Are you having trouble explaining how awesome this event will be to your non-reader friends? We know how challenging it can be to explain just how magical the world of fiction is to some people so we've prepared this handy "How To Explain How Fabulous the West Coast Fiction Festival Is Going To Be In Fiveish Easy Sentences" - just to make your life easier.
1. It will be a chance to meet some amazing authors in real life, and they'll be thrilled to sign my books.
2. There will be a market area for the sponsors who will be selling arts and crafts (and books).
3. There will be a blind date with a book table where I can pick up great book for a gold coin - it will be like a present to me from me. Who else is going to surprise me like that?
4. By buying a ticket I am supporting Share the Dignity.
5. I could win great prizes (check out our June prize draw below).
(Bonus points for VIP ticket holders)
6. I get to party the night away with authors and other booklovers.
8. I get a fantastic goodie bag.
(Bonus point aka The Real Reason That Some People Just Don't Understand)
9. I GET TO HANG OUT WITH BOOKS AND PEOPLE WHO LOVE BOOKS FOR AN ENTIRE DAY (and night) HOW CAN YOU NOT UNDERSTAND HOW AWESOME THIS IS?
While you may feel like shouting the last point, and while we totally get this, it may not be helpful in selling this event to your friends. Just shout it in your head and know that you're getting to spend the day with people who do understand.
Do you already have your ticket? If so you are now in the draw for an amazing prize pack!
Don't have your ticket yet? It's ok. The prize won't be drawn until 15 June 2018 so you still have time. Get in quick though! This your chance to win five fabulous books donated by some truly fantastic authors.

Demelza Carlton is the author of more than 40 books to date! This USA Today bestselling author has always loved the ocean, but on her first snorkelling trip she found she was afraid of fish. She has since swum with sea lions, sharks and sea cucumbers and stood on spray-drenched cliffs over a seething sea as a seven-metre cyclonic swell surged in, shattering a shipwreck below.
Sensationalist spin? No - Demelza tends to take a camera with her so she can capture and share the moment later; shipwrecks, sharks and all. Demelza lives in the southern suburbs of Perth, Western Australia.
Happy reading everyone!
Love from Tamara, Kathryn, Jennie, Anthea, Rachael, Sasha, Catherine and Tess - your West Coast Fiction Festival volunteer committee xx
