Celebrating World Zoonoses Day

We mark World Zoonoses Day on July 6 every year. Why? Because if French biologist Louis Pasteur hadn’t discovered the first rabies vaccine on the very same date in 1885, the world would be a very different place.

The day reminds us all that looking after the health of animals is critical to helping to prevent disease in humans.

In this issue, read about how zoonotic diseases affect animals and people every day, whether that’s through pet ownership or livestock farming.
