Sharing Some Love

Our Hosts absolutely love teaching their workshops and welcoming our guests in to explore their creative sides, connect with each other and themselves and to feel inspired and grow their self-confidence. We are hosting a workshop for women refugees from the Ukraine in collaboration with Gooseglitters on 31st July. So we thought it would be nice to show you how it looks and feels to be a guest at an M.Y.O workshop.

The main aims of an M.Y.O workshop is to have fun, learn some new skills, and to feel inspired to be more creative. There is never any pressure to make something spectacular but our guests always create work that they should be very proud of, it always looks good. Our hosts will always mindfully guide and motivate guests and lend a helping hand where needed.

It's always so wonderful to see such happy faces when looking back over photos from the workshops. We also love to see people's creations and to receive people's feedback.

Here is a nice collection of just some of the photos taken from our workshops in the past fortnight and a few of their creations.

In collaboration with the amazing Gooseglitters, we will be hosting a free workshop on 31st July, for Ukranian Women refugees. We will explore vintage collage whilst connecting with each other as well as ourselves, relaxing and enjoying the creative practice for a whole 2.5 hours.

You’ll be shown how to:

work with all sorts of different old paper materials such as vintage books, magazines,catalogues and cards.
how to make a selection for your own artwork & construct a collage so it becomes a cohesive piece use text and glitters to make your artwork extra special

So, what exactly will we do and where?

We'll be making a piece of art - maybe you want to keep it yourself, maybe you're making it for a lovely friend or family member. You can bring your personal pictures if you'd like to include these in your piece.

2.5 hours of tips & tricks, guidance with sourcing images, cutting, puzzle'ing and creating your artwork
All vintage paper materials for you to work with
Tea, coffees & breakfast pastries to start the Sunday morning!
A picture mount to frame your work

The workshop is at M.Y.O which is based just 8 minutes walk from London bridge and 3 minutes from Borough.

How about joining us for a workshop to make your very own printed t-shirt or get involved in printing your own tote bag at our sociable, mood-boosting workshops!

Join M.Y.O for an evening of lino printing and exploring your creative side. This 2.5 hour workshop is one of our most popular and you can choose to lino print onto fabric or make your own A4 prints.

Using a single block of A6 lino, you'll be guided through how to create multiple lino prints in a variety of colours. This workshop provides an introduction to the tools and techniques whilst experimenting with different methods for lino printing. You'll go home with your very own print.

We will guide you through how to design and make your own t-shirt, tote bag or baby grow with hand cut vinyl. There will be plenty of designs on show, so you can get some inspiration and a sense for what is possible. Then, you'll have a think about what kind of design you'd like to do and we'll get to it!

You'll leave having made a unique t-shirt and tote bag or baby grow to bring home or to give as a gift. You'll also feel the proven mindfulness benefits of being creative!
