Okabe Takahiro, owner of the Chabako Tea House in Tokyo, will be holding a workshop to introduce various types of Japanese tea at the Entoten gallery in the beginning of March.
In this workshop, participants will learn about the different types of Japanese tea, production areas, and manufacturing methods.
During the workshop, you will be able to taste and learn how to best prepare several different types of Japanese teas including:-
-Fukamushi (deep steamed green tea)
-Gyokuro (shaded green tea)
-Matcha (powdered green tea)
-Hojicha (roasted green tea)
All of these teas are of the highest quality from Japan, and are personally selected by Okabe-san.
Fee will be $30 per person and you can choose one of these two dates.
Okabe Takahiro owns and operates the tea house “Chabako” in Shinagawa, Tokyo. Born in Shizuoka, a prefecture that boasts the highest tea production in Japan, Takahiro is passionate in sharing the culture of Japanese tea to people overseas, while also learning about foreign tea cultures. His work includes movie-making about tea culture, and participating in Japanese tea missions to Europe.
