Joop Roijakkers Vice-President Rental at ICTS.

Mr. Joop Roijakkers has been promoted to VP Rental at ICTS after successfully heading the Netherlands' operation for more than 10 years. As Sales Director Joop introduced very successfully Kässbohrer, Tirsan and Talson into the Benelux, Ireland and the Nordic Countries between 2001 and 2008.

Mr. Roijakkers started his career at Philips followed by Tetra Laval. Mr. Marc Van Wezenberg, Client Relations in the Netherlands, will succeed Joop as Country Manager.

Spare parts to serve ICTS' clients.

Bulthuis invited ICTS to visit its main spare parts depot in Groningen, the Netherlands. Timely delivery of quality parts is crucial to keep clients' trailers up and running.

Bulthuis has its main facility in Groningen, with 8,500 m2 of spare parts, servicing its clients and own 7 locations. The history of Bulthuis Truck & Trailer Parts goes back 160 years. Bulthuis focuses on the sale and delivery of truck, bus and trailer parts to transport companies, truck dealers and independent workshops. With more than 35 vans, Bulthuis supplies its customers with the parts they have ordered twice a day.

40 double deck boxes for EWL.

On Wednesday February 26th Mr. Stuart Kirk, the Europa Road Fleet Manager, accepted the first of 40 new boxes delivered by ICTS UK. The boxes are UK registered, equipped with a height-adjustable loading floor for Double Stock transport as well for EUR and UK pallets. State of the art telematics were also installed. 
They join a further 122 trailers on contract that are supplied by ICTS.

Just-in-time solution for end-user.

Tailormade Logistics and ICTS joined forces to arrange a smooth and fast process to enable Tailormade’s customer to take 50 containers into operation. At the Cosco deepsea terminal in Zeebrugge, containers were picked up by Tailormade Logistics and transported to ICTS’ workshop in Zeebrugge.

ICTS thoroughly checked each container and installed GPS in each of them. Within 5 working days, all 50 containers were able to go into operation. The end-user therefore benefited from less downtime and no extra empty kilometres thanks to this just-in-time ‘tailor-made solution’ between Tailormade Logistics and ICTS! 
Tailormade Logistics offers transport, logistics and value-added services to its customers. Its goal is to deliver innovative solutions to reduce costs and enhance transparency between the company and its customers.

“What is the most exciting aspect of your job as General Manager?”
“Well, I love survival, ha ha. But my serious answer would be that I like to develop the company. Verus is continuously striving for the best growth strategies and takes decisions accordingly. I have always been in the development business." 

“It sounds like you have ambitious growth plans for the future. Can you tell us more about it?”
“We have been in existence for 2.5 years and have grown to a position where we have 180 proprietary trucks, with a break-even result in the financial year 2019. Our aim is to have at least 2,000 trucks in 3 to 4 years' time. We are in the process of finding funding and are expecting results very soon.”

“How would you describe the partnership with ICTS?”
“We have a good partnership with ICTS. Right now, we are in negotiations about several rental trailers and I hope we will be able to finalise this soon. We may decide to deepen our relationship even further, but let’s wait to mention this till the time is right, ha ha.”

“How do macro-economic aspects influence your daily business?”
“Right now, we see some economic changes and, let’s say challenges, ahead of us. For instance, in Russia, the toll on road-usage has been increased dramatically. The price of fuel has also increased and transportation taxes have been raised. We operate domestically and our cost levels have increased by 35 to 40%. It is therefore very difficult to earn any money in our sector. On the other hand, it forces Verus to be more creative and smart in reducing fixed and utilization costs, which will be beneficial in the long run.”

“How do you think our exciting transport industry will look in a couple of years’ time?”
“We are convinced that in 3 to 5 years, only 5 to 7 of the largest transport companies will survive, together with specialized niche-focused companies. The entire mid-sized range of transport companies will be gone, either taken over by the largest ones, or simply not able to continue in a financial, sustainable way.“

“Are you able to adapt your company strategy in line with the way you see our industry?”
“Yes, we have a clear strategy. Verus is one of those 5 to 7 companies that will survive and will grow. For that reason, our main focus, and especially my focus since I am in top management, is the development towards that growth. The infrastructure is already established. It’s the best part of my job, it’s very exciting.”

The CPI Transportation Index in the Euro area is estimated to stand at 108.43 in 12 months' time. It is projected to trend around 109.95 points in 2021, according to Trading Economics global macro models and analysts’ expectations.
