Saying Goodbye to 2019

It's hard to believe we're already in December and this year is coming to an end. It's been an exciting year for sure, but we still have so much further to go to reach the girls and goals we have here at Restoration House Ministries. As we say goodbye to 2019 we'd like to share the story of one of our residents and give you an opportunity to give back. We look forward to the new year, 2020, and are thankful for your continued support.

No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, ¹⁴ I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us. - Philippians 3:13-14
 

A Word From a Resident - Kayla


I am 28 years old, I have three kids and I came to RHM to find healing for the things that have kept me in bondage all my life. The things that led me down a dark path of an eight year drug addiction. I arrived at RHM on August 20, 2019. I am learning that without God I can do nothing and that His promises hold true. The best part of living at RHM is that I get the opportunity to get to the root issues of why I used drugs for so long. This isn’t something you can get in rehab or other recovery programs and I can see why they never produced any long-lasting results. The biggest challenge for me is sitting still when all I have done for the last 12 years is go from one thing to the next never stopping to fix all the parts in me that are broken. After nine months of having my kids in the foster care system and much praying and really having to trust God even when it didn’t look too good, I watched God move a mountain right in front of my eyes. On December 2, 2019, I will be reunited with my kids where I transition to STCH Ministries Homes for Families in Goliad.  After that I plan to go back to school and finish the classes I need to get my Associates in Nursing so I can provide a wonderful life for my 3 babies.
