A Message from Ron Walborn Jr., Prebiotin CEO

All across the globe people from every corner of our world face real and constant health concerns. Colds, flus, viruses, all kinds of “bugs,” maladies, disease conditions are all real, all impactful, and very concerning if not outright frightful for those who deal with these issues daily.

Just since the start of the 21st century we have seen outbreaks of H1N1 (swine flu), SARS, MERS, and many other dangerous viruses and influenzas that have caused widespread pain and suffering, and even death for those afflicted the most. Now it is a new threat, COVID-19, otherwise known as the coronavirus. As with each of these dangerous conditions, certain demographics of our global population are more targeted and susceptible to the worst of these threats than others. But in this case, as I write this, and the world begins to go into lockdown to try and control the widespread contagion, no one is spared the direct or indirect effects of this virus.

All of these potential threats have one thing in common. They all have some impact on, and a connection with, the immune system. So in this time of crisis, what does one company do who has a functional and fundamental health product that can help? Do we sit back and let the world figure it out on their own or do we keep this information to ourselves? The ethical and moral ramifications of that would be unforgivable.

Prebiotin’s prebiotic fiber supplement’s greatest benefit is the ability to strengthen the immune system. Strengthening our immune system—I truly believe—is the most important fundamental thing we can do in this time of threatened attack on our health, especially for those who have already compromised systems. This goes directly to the heart of the crisis we face. Prebiotin is first and foremost to help our good bacteria flourish.  We encourage everyone to look at the real science that supports our products and decide for yourself. Immunity is the answer. Prebiotin is an important part of the “solution.”

Coronavirus - CDC Recommends Taking Steps to Strengthen Your Immune System

by Gabriele Amersbach, Prebiotin Science Writer

More than 205,470 people have contracted COVID-19, as of March 18, according to the Johns Hopkins University Coronavirus Resource Center (these numbers are increasing by the hour). The death toll is at least 8,248 people; half of the deaths are outside mainland China, which has 81,102 confirmed cases, with a death toll of 3,122.

Infected people have been detected in at least 136 countries, with Italy having the highest infection rates outside of China. The whole country is on lockdown, while hospitals are overwhelmed with spiraling numbers of infected patients. As of March 18, Italy has 31,506 cases, with 2,503 deaths.

With lockdowns, school closing, and the strong suggestion from the CDC that organizers cancel events larger than 10 people, our situation is looking a lot like Italy’s. Many experts are saying the United States has just a two-week delay before we see similar infection rates; U.S. hospitals may also struggle as the number of severely ill patients spikes. Currently, the U.S. has 7,324 cases of the virus confirmed, with 115 deaths. However, this number is most likely higher because of the lag in testing.

On a personal level, most of us are becoming more and more vigilant about wiping down our cars and homes with disinfectant, although Purell and disinfecting wipes are almost impossible to purchase. We wash our hands until they crack, stay 6 feet away from anyone we meet, while we attempt to stay calm in the face of such dire news and the growing fear that the worst is still to come. What can we do?
