Call for Master Teachers!

 
Master Teachers are a critical and important part of supporting the success of the project. Master teachers work closely with a small group of 10-15 participating teachers in a professional learning community. Master teachers provide ongoing support and encouragement throughout the professional development and school year. Click the buttons below to learn more about becoming a Master Teacher!

  • June 22 - 26, 2020 - In person at Butler University in Indiana. Free for Indiana high school teachers. Optional 2 weeks of additional online PD (June 8-June 21) available for those who are new to Java. Apply here.
  • July 6-10, 2020 - In person at Salisbury University in Maryland. Info Coming Soon!
  • July 12, 2020 - In person 3 hour workshop at CSTA 2020 in Arlington, VA.
  • July 19-24, 2020 - Pathfinders Summer Institute. $1998 per teacher (includes travel, lodging, meals). A limited number of scholarships are available for teachers who are new to CSA and participate in our research project. Any public high school teacher can also use DonorsChoose.org to raise funds. Apply here.
  • July 20-24, 2020 - In person at Arizona State University in Arizona. Optional 2 weeks of additional online PD (June 8-June 21) available for those who are new to Java. Info Coming Soon! A limited number of scholarships are available for teachers who are new to CSA and participate in our research project. Register here

AspireIT: Peer-led Computing Education

Girls who have received an NCWIT Aspirations in Computing Award can apply. The National Center for Computer Science Education can be a program partner and help apply for the grant to run programs with middle school girls in their area. Applications are due March 15.

AP CS Female Diversity Award

Did your school make the list for 2019?

"College Board is honoring schools who reached 50% or
higher female representation in either of the two AP
computer science courses in 2019, or whose percentage of
female examinees met or exceeded that of the school's female
population in 2019. Out of 20,000 institutions that offer AP
courses, only 818 have achieved this important result."
