weekly pastoral reflections

in this issue

Friends,

Two quick things to highlight before moving on to the rest of this week's announcements:
First, a slideshow of images of Norma Aamodt-Nelson's tenure at Trinity was shared at the semi-annual meeting on May 31. If you missed it, or want to view it again or share it, check it out on Trinity's YouTube channel.
Second, all are encouraged to read the Northwest Washington Synod's monthly publication, The Spirit, which features articles written by Bishop Shelley Bryan Wee and Synod VP Kay Edgerton.

Keep scrolling for more of what's happening at Trinity in the coming days and weeks!

Blessings,
Josh Judd-Herzfeldt

upcoming sunday worship

June 21, 2020 + 10 AM - [live stream | bulletin]

God does not promise that the path of the disciple will be easy. Jeremiah feels the pain of rejection from those who do not want to hear what he has to say. Jesus declares that his words may bring stark division. Even so, we need not be afraid for God accounts for each hair on our heads. Though we may experience rejection, frustration, division, and death, God’s grace and love make us a new creation each day. Marked with the cross and filled with holy food, we are sent from worship to witness to Christ in the world.

++++++++++++

God-who-walks-with-us,
ahead, beside, behind, above, below, and around us,
you who journey with wandering and displaced people:
clear our eyes to see you in the many displaced sisters and brothers
at our borders, gates, and doors;
give us just minds and confident hearts
to protest, challenge, and partner with others
to turn hard, callous, and inhumane policies
into habits of generosity, compassion, and welcome at our gates;
and through your Spirit strengthen our resolve
to work towards a new world where all can share in full and flourishing life.
