Academy Spotlight

Audrey Bonjour has grown to be an integral part of Skyline's Technical Theater department over the past several years.  This fall, Audrey worked on props for "Seussical," while also helping design and organize the show.  And tonight or Saturday night, you might catch a glimpse of her at Skyline's spring production, "The Love of Three Oranges."  While Audrey worked on props for this show, Stage Tech Manager Amy Campion said that she is expanding her skills as an Assistant Stage Manager, coordinating backstage scene shifts.  "She is a skilled painter as well, and we are excited to have her in our program," says Campion.
Audrey loves Theater because "it is a structured way to be creative and work with people, and the VPA program at Skyline has allowed that to happen."  Bonjour adds, "My favorite class is Tech Theater because I get to do what I love!"  With her many hobbies of piano, guitar, voice, arts, and crafts, it is no wonder why she has found her place here at Skyline in this department.  Audrey will continue to engage in this field next year, as she plans to double major in Stage Technology and Business at Colorado Mesa University.  If you can, go see Audrey and her classmates in action tonight or tomorrow at 7pm in Vance Brand Civic Auditorium!  You will not be disappointed!

The Tribute to Teachers awards program, sponsored by St. Vrain Valley Schools Education Foundation, provides the opportunity for students, parents, volunteers, fellow educators, school staff and community members to recognize and honor individual teachers at the Pre-K – 12th grade levels in St. Vrain Valley Schools who exemplify excellence in teaching. By paying tribute to teachers who have an extraordinary impact on the achievements of students, the Education Foundation and the community hope to honor the accomplishments of all teachers.

One teacher from each St. Vrain Valley School will receive the Teacher of the Year recognition for their school. Two other teachers from each school will be honored as Teacher of the Year finalists. The Teacher of the Year for each school will receive a $100. The recipients and finalists all receive a certificate of recognition during the Tribute to Teachers event on April 30, 2022. From the school Teacher of the Year honorees, a district wide Teacher of the Year and four finalists will be chosen.
